Moulay Yacoub, Morocco – Mr. Mohamed Samir El Khamlichi, the Governor of Moulay Yacoub province, chaired a meeting today, Thursday, August 28, 2025, dedicated to preparing for the upcoming 2025/2026 school year. The meeting was attended by several local officials, including the Secretary-General of the province, local authorities, presidents of communal councils, and the regional director of the Ministry of National Education.
The Importance of the Education Sector and Ensuring a Successful Academic Year
During the meeting, the Governor emphasized the vital importance of the education sector in the province, praising the efforts made by all stakeholders. He stressed the need to ensure a successful start to the school year, highlighting the pivotal role of provincial authorities in encouraging school enrollment and combating school dropout.
The regional director of the ministry gave a detailed presentation outlining the measures taken to provide a suitable environment for a successful academic year, in line with ministerial directives.
Mobilizing School Transport to Combat Academic Dropout
In a practical step, the Governor issued instructions to the presidents of communal councils and relevant departments to fully mobilize the province’s school transport fleet from the very beginning of the school year. This measure aims to ensure students’ commute in good conditions, which directly contributes to enhancing school enrollment opportunities and reducing academic dropout.
This meeting comes as part of ongoing efforts to improve human development indicators related to the education sector, in full alignment with the wise vision of King Mohammed VI.
