The Maghreb Association Sportive de Fès (MAS) basketball team issued a strong statement expressing its firm rejection of the disciplinary committee’s decisions related to the quarter-final mini-league match against Wydad Athletic Club.
The MAS management described the rulings as a deep shock, unfair, illogical, and selective, raising serious questions about the motives behind them. The statement criticized the committee’s approach for imposing harsh penalties solely on MAS players while issuing lighter sanctions against offenders from the opposing team, and even exempting some from any punishment.
MAS announced its intention to appeal the decisions before the appeals committee, calling for an end to double standards and demanding a full review to ensure justice is served by punishing all those proven guilty without exception or bias, thereby preserving the dignity of the sport and the safety of all participants.
This statement comes amid rising tensions following the controversial match, with MAS seeking fair treatment and appropriate sanctions to uphold sportsmanship and fair competition.
