Use of Service Weapon in Casablanca: Police Officer Neutralizes Threat After Incitement of Fierce Dog

Casablanca, Morocco – A police officer working in the Errahma security district in Casablanca was forced to use his service weapon this Thursday morning, May 29, 2025, during an intervention to apprehend an individual who was in a state of intense aggression and posed a serious and dangerous threat to citizens and police officers by inciting a fierce breed of dog.

Details of the incident indicate that police elements intervened to arrest a person who was in an abnormal state and causing chaos in the public street. However, the suspect violently resisted the security forces and incited a fierce dog to attack them.

Given the gravity of the situation, the police officer was forced to initially fire warning shots before hitting the attacking dog. This intervention successfully neutralized the danger posed by this assault and led to the suspect’s arrest.

The suspect has been placed under judicial investigation, which is being conducted under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecutor’s Office.
