King Mohammed VI Congratulates “Futsal Lionesses” on Their Historic African Title

Rabat – King Mohammed VI sent a congratulatory message to the members of the Moroccan national women’s futsal team on their well-deserved victory in the Africa Cup of Nations Futsal “Morocco 2025” title, achieved on Wednesday evening in Rabat.

In his message, the King expressed “warmest congratulations” to the players and all components of the team, praising this “African distinction that reinforces the steady development of women’s football in our country.”

The King expressed his “pride” in the national team’s victory in the inaugural edition of this African championship hosted by the Kingdom with great success, as well as their qualification for the upcoming World Cup finals in the Philippines, emphasizing that this achievement “confirms the sporting lead that Moroccan women have achieved, and their strong determination to continue achieving honorable results for national football, and to assert its presence on continental and international podiums.”

The King commended the high performance of the national team players and the high national spirit they demonstrated throughout the championship, expressing his appreciation for the efforts of everyone who contributed to this victory, including players, technical, medical, and administrative staff, and managers.

In his congratulatory message, the King called on the national team to achieve “more success and brilliance in future continental and international competitions.”

The Moroccan national women’s futsal team won the Africa Cup of Nations “Morocco 2025” title after defeating their Tanzanian counterparts 3-2 in the final match held on Wednesday evening at the covered hall of the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat.

The goals for the Moroccan team were scored by Doha El Madani (20th minute), Drissia Korrych (34th minute), and Yasmine Demraoui (40th minute), while the goals for the Tanzanian team were scored by Anastazia Katunzi (4th minute) and Jamila Rajabu (16th minute).

With this victory, both the Moroccan and Tanzanian teams secured their qualification for the FIFA Women’s Futsal World Cup, which will be held in the Philippines from November 27 to December 7, 2025.
