Moroccan Company Donates Over 2,000 Eyeglasses to Senegal in Solidarity Initiative

Moroccan company “Opty Distribution,” specializing in the manufacture and distribution of eyewear, has undertaken a major humanitarian initiative in Senegal, donating over 2,000 pairs of prescription glasses to benefit residents in remote areas. This initiative was part of a medical caravan organized by the company in collaboration with the Moroccan Association for Eye Care and the “Optic Nakhil” Foundation from December 9 to 18, 2024.

This solidarity initiative has contributed to improving eye health for thousands of people in rural and remote areas of Senegal, with prescription glasses distributed free of charge to those in need. Mr. Mohsen El Bakkali, CEO of “Opty Distribution,” affirmed that social commitment is a core value for the company, expressing pride in contributing to the improvement of local residents’ eye health.

It’s worth noting that this initiative went beyond mere donation of glasses; the company actively participated in organizing and implementing the operation, confirming its full commitment to social responsibility. This initiative has had a significant positive impact on the lives of beneficiaries, enabling them to regain clear vision and improve their quality of life.

This initiative is considered a model for South-South cooperation and demonstrates how the private sector can play an important role in social development. It also strengthens relations between Morocco and Senegal and emphasizes the importance of solidarity and cooperation for sustainable development.

Finally, “Opty Distribution” expressed its desire to repeat such initiatives in the future and to be open to collaboration with other partners who share the same values and aspirations, emphasizing the importance of collective action to create real positive change.
