During a rally organized by the Justice and Development Party (PJD) in the city of Fez on Sunday, December 22, Abdelilah Benkirane strongly condemned consensual relationships between adults, asserting that they pose a significant threat to the moral and religious values of Moroccan society. Benkirane argued that such practices endanger the stability and cohesion of Moroccan families, warning that legalizing these relationships would lead to the normalization of moral corruption and undermine the Islamic principles that form the foundation of the nation’s identity.
Benkirane emphasized that the family is the cornerstone of society and that any attack on its sanctity would result in the disintegration of familial bonds and the emergence of conflicts within households. He accused the government of promoting policies aimed at “Westernizing” Moroccan society and weakening its moral and social fabric. He urged Moroccans to hold firmly to their shared values and resist what he described as destructive trends.
In his closing remarks, Benkirane reaffirmed that the Justice and Development Party remains committed to defending the religious and moral values of Moroccans and will continue to oppose any initiatives that could jeopardize the identity and stability of Moroccan society.
