Border congestion in Ceuta: Hundreds of Moroccans stuck for hours waiting to cross!

The border between occupied Ceuta and Fnideq is witnessing a state of tension and protests by Moroccans stranded in the area due to new procedures imposed by Spanish authorities. This involves a strict customs system that has led to the detention of dozens of Moroccan vehicles for long hours waiting for permission to cross into Fnideq.

Local sources reported that hundreds of Moroccans in their cars expressed their dissatisfaction with these measures, which they described as arbitrary, emphasizing that the new system does not take into account the circumstances of travelers and does not provide adequate facilities.

On the other hand, Spanish authorities justify this customs system by the need to strengthen border control and regulate traffic, which affected Moroccans considered an obstacle to freedom of movement and causing significant financial and moral losses.

This crisis brings back to the forefront the debate about the status of the border between occupied Ceuta and Morocco, amid demands for the intervention of responsible authorities to find practical solutions that alleviate the suffering of those stranded and preserve the interests of both parties.
