Political Dynamics in Fes-Meknes Region: A Look at the 2024 Craft Industry Chamber Elections

On Tuesday, November 19th, a session was held to elect the President of the Craft Industry Chamber for the Fes-Meknes region, highlighting political stances that reflect the dynamics of the regional political scene. In this context, a member of the Justice and Development Party (PJD) shared insights into the party’s approach to such electoral events.

The member emphasized that for years, PJD has maintained an open approach to collaboration with various political parties, without setting red lines that could hinder the possibility of building alliances that serve the interests of professionals. He noted that the party’s decisions in such events are based on the principle of consultation with the regional office, which ensures that the higher interests of the region and professionals are met.

Since joining the regional political scene in 2009, the member highlighted that the party has consistently supported the majority when necessary to secure the interests of professionals and residents, stressing that the priority is to offer practical solutions that foster sustainable development for the sector.

Despite praising the party’s strong organizational structure at local, regional, and central levels, the member acknowledged some differences in opinion among members regarding the regional leadership’s decisions, particularly in these elections. However, he affirmed that such differences are natural and reflect the vitality of internal discussions aimed at making decisions that serve the public good.

The member concluded by stating that the upcoming phase requires all political parties to move past differences and engage in collective efforts aimed at developing the craft industry sector, which plays a vital role in improving the region’s economic and social conditions.
