Strict Measures Announced to Restore and Develop Ain Chkef Forest in Fes-Meknes

The Governor of the Fes-Meknes region, Mr. Mouad El Jamai, has issued strict instructions to prioritize the care, rehabilitation, and development of Ain Chkef Forest, a vital green space in the Moulay Yacoub province. This initiative aligns with ongoing efforts to preserve the environment and enhance green areas in the region.

In recent years, significant projects have been undertaken in Ain Chkef Forest, including the development of forest trails covering 40 hectares at a cost exceeding 9 million dirhams. These upgrades include recreational facilities such as jogging and walking paths, picnic areas, and children’s play zones, aiming to boost the forest’s capacity and ensure its sustainability.

Furthermore, authorities have carried out demolitions of unauthorized structures within the forest under direct supervision of local officials to protect the environment and prevent encroachments on this natural space.

These ongoing efforts reflect a comprehensive vision for sustainable development in the Fes-Meknes region, focusing on conserving natural resources and providing safe, healthy recreational spaces for residents.
