Faculty of charia in Fez Hosts Special Symposium on Child Protection Against Exploitation

As part of ongoing efforts to raise awareness about child rights and combat exploitation, the Faculty of charia at Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University in Fez is hosting a symposium titled “Legal and Sharia Protection for Children Victims of Exploitation.”

The event, coordinated by Professor Ahmed Bayad, President of the Research Club on Childhood and Family Issues, will focus on the legal and religious frameworks safeguarding children from all forms of exploitation and abuse.

Scheduled for Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. in the Mohammed Yassif Auditorium, the symposium will gather a distinguished panel of experts and specialists in law, charia, and civil society. They will present comprehensive insights into protection measures and the role of national and international legislation in tackling exploitation.

The event will feature contributions from prominent academics and researchers, as well as experts in child rights. Organized by the Faculty of charia, this event underscores Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University’s commitment to social responsibility and academic leadership in fostering discussions on pressing societal issues, such as protecting children from exploitation.

Organizers hope that the symposium discussions will yield practical recommendations to strengthen national policies for child protection and raise community awareness about this crucial issue.

The event represents an excellent opportunity for students and human rights enthusiasts to engage with experts, learn about legal and Sharia-based protections, and exchange ideas on supporting child victims of exploitation and empowering them with their rights.
