In preparation for Morocco’s hosting of the 2030 FIFA World Cup, Saïd Zniber, the Wali of the Fes-Meknes region, is leading a series of major development projects aimed at improving infrastructure and enhancing the city’s capacity.
These efforts include key initiatives such as strengthening urban transport with the “Busway” project and expanding Fes-Saïss Airport to increase its capacity to 5 million passengers annually by 2028.
The focus also extends to enhancing tourism infrastructure by increasing accommodation capacity and upgrading hotels to meet international hospitality standards.
These projects are part of a strategic vision to transform Fes into a modern urban center capable of accommodating the large influx of visitors expected during the global tournament.
