As part of ongoing efforts to enhance the stability and quality of waste management services in Fes, Mr. Mustapha Lhebti, Director of the Local Public Networks Directorate, has taken decisive steps to avert an environmental crisis that was looming over the city.
The pace of operations was accelerated with the selection of two companies to handle waste collection. This move has led to an initial improvement in service quality and laid the foundation for long-term stability.
Mr. Said Zniber, the Wali of the Fes-Meknes region, played a pivotal role in supporting Lhebti’s plans by facilitating the implementation of the new contracts and overcoming administrative hurdles.
This collaboration resulted in the Fes Municipality approving all necessary procedures, which enabled a noticeable improvement in waste collection and a reduction in the accumulation that had negatively impacted the environment and public health.
