As anticipated, Hamza Jassous has been appointed as the new president of the basketball branch of the Maghreb Association Sportif (MAS), following intervention from a group of passionate supporters, particularly from the Jassous family, known for their unwavering loyalty to the club across all its divisions.
The role that Mr. Jassous will undertake is a significant challenge, especially given the lack of financial resources to meet the team’s needs.
Nonetheless, everyone is hopeful that he will contribute to the development of the operation, drawing on the previous experiences of the management team that may be part of his working group this year.
However, questions remain about the role of the management board, which has not made any tangible contributions to the branches.
These branches continue to rely on themselves to seek support, apart from some meager grants provided.
The management board had previously announced the holding of a general assembly at the end of last month, but nothing noteworthy has occurred since then.
More than two years have passed since the formation of the management board, and voices are rising regarding the necessity for them to resign due to their failure to secure sufficient financial resources to support the branches.
Despite these challenges, hope remains pinned on the new president of the basketball branch, who enjoys support from his family and the confidence of some sponsors.
We wish Mr. Hamza Jassous success in these new challenges and express our hope that he will help restore the honor of the Maghreb Association Sportif, which is beloved by the passionate fans of Fes, especially the supporters of the “Tigers” team.
