On Tuesday, August 13, the General Directorate of National Security gave the green light for the establishment of two new police stations: one at Moulay Ali Chérif Airport in Errachidia and another at Zagora Airport. This move aims to support the expansion of air transport activities in Morocco’s urban and tourist hubs.
The new security facilities will provide enhanced border control and civil aviation security services at Errachidia and Zagora airports. Their responsibilities will include passenger reception, security screening, stamping travel documents upon arrival and departure, and securing the facilities of these airports, reflecting the significant increase in passenger traffic, both domestic and international, in recent years.
These new police stations will be staffed with additional qualified personnel in border security and equipped with necessary logistical and technical resources, including advanced border control systems and management programs.
The creation of these facilities aligns with the General Directorate of National Security’s efforts to keep pace with the growth in passenger and cargo movement through national border centers, providing integrated policing services that adhere to international standards for border security and air traffic safety.
