The 23rd edition of the Ahidous Festival, held from July 12 to 14, was a great success thanks to the outstanding efforts of the local authorities and the personal support of officials, led by the excellent Pacha, under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. The festival was held under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
The festival witnessed the participation of 37 troupes that presented distinctive performances of the arts of the Middle Atlas, allowing attendees, both from inside and outside Morocco, to learn about this authentic heritage art.
In his remarks, a senior official at the Evren regional governorate emphasized to Fez News the importance of such events in promoting Morocco’s intangible cultural heritage, noting that the art of Ahidous expresses the richness of the national cultural heritage, and that supporting this art and ensuring its continuity and transmission to future generations is a priority for the local authorities.
The Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication – Culture Sector – in partnership with the Thaymat Association for Atlas Arts, the provincial municipality of Ifrane, the regional council of Ifrane and the Ain El Louh community, organized this festival with the aim of highlighting the specificities of the Ahidous art and integrating it into the economic, social and cultural movement in the rural area where it is organized.
The attendees praised the efforts exerted in organizing this festival, which has become an important annual station to revive Moroccan cultural heritage and promote it internationally. The organizers confirmed the continuation of work in the coming years to consolidate this success and expand the scope of participation and support.
Thanks to the efforts of its officials and the involvement of the local community, the Evran region continues to strengthen its position as an important cultural destination, contributing to the preservation of the national heritage and introducing the world to the beauty and richness of the Mediterranean Atlas arts.
