This morning, the Morandi Levy channel aired an exclusive clip from Algerian television that made serious accusations against France.
The channel refers to a tweet by the LR account that published on Thursday a message calling on Algeria to ‘take back everything, the good and the bad: Criminals and offenders.”
The message came in response to a list of property provided by Algeria, which France should return as part of the memory work set up by the two countries.
The Republicans responded by superimposing photographs of Algerians celebrating Algerian sporting victories in Paris with the text ‘Letter of service to Algeria, everything must be returned, the good and the bad: Criminals, offenders, illegal immigrants, wanted to leave French territory…”
After this photo editing, Algerian state television reacted violently to France, and in particular to the ‘Republicans’ (see video above).
A journalist on TV2 said: ‘This is the dangerous slide of a far-right French party at the expense of the Republicans. A racist message published on Thursday targeting Algeria. This message was widely criticised and criticised by the left, demonstrating the comfortable racism that prevails in France.”
The reporter added in her report: “Algeria remains a constant obsession with a forgotten but undigested past. Every French election season, it is subjected to spitting, hatred and xenophobic statements.
“From the top 7.5% of his party’s voting intentions, Eric Ciotti, the head of the misnamed “Republicans” party, posted an inappropriate tweet in response to a legitimate Algerian request for the return of historical property. A populist message accompanied by a photo collage showing Algerians celebrating in Paris.”
