Agadir – A group of child victims of the Al Haouz earthquake, from the community of Tizi Ntast in Taroudant region, were received on Saturday at the National Security Open Doors in Agadir.
The visit, organised jointly by the General Directorate of National Security and the National Council for Human Rights, is part of the efforts made to support the children victims of the earthquake and provide them with psychological and social support.
This visit is part of the parallel activities organised by the DGSN and the CNDH, as part of their partnership aimed at promoting human rights, said Brigadier General Mumtaz Mohamed Egber of the Judicial Police Directorate.
In a statement to MAP, he added that this visit is an opportunity for these children to visit all the exhibition stands, including the earthquake stand, which provides information on earthquakes and the measures and procedures to be taken during and after their occurrence, in order to consolidate their knowledge on natural disasters and the safety measures associated with them.
For his part, Mohamed Charef, President of the Souss Massa Regional Committee for Human Rights, highlighted that the visit of child victims of the earthquake to the exhibition spaces is an extension of the activities that the CNDH has programmed as part of the follow-up and accompaniment of the earthquake victims, which will continue in the future.
He added that the visit is an opportunity to familiarise the children with the efforts undertaken by the DGSN and the CNDH on the human rights level, promote the culture of human rights among them, and enrich their knowledge of the security professions.
This year, the General Directorate of National Security chose the theme ‘National Security: Citizenship, Responsibility and Solidarity’ as an expression of awareness and pride in human solidarity, responsibility and altruism, values that accompanied the management of the Al Hawz earthquake disaster, in a way that embodied the sense of responsibility and human solidarity in the work of the public forces.
The activities of the Open Doors Days of the General Directorate of National Security will continue in Agadir until 21 May.
This year’s edition of the Open Doors aims to continue raising the quality of this communication event, which has become an annual exercise for which all police services prepare seriously, by building an integrated exhibition space, free of charge and open to the public, offering a comprehensive picture of the various police professions and specialities, in a format that combines learning, entertainment and communication between police officers and citizens of different age groups.
