The minister stressed that the establishment of an import mechanism is not sufficient to achieve the expected objective, noting that the government is working to “simplify and regulate the process followed last year, in order to facilitate importation.
In response, Tuesday, to a question on the measures taken in anticipation of Eid Al-Adha in the House of Advisors, the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, Mohamed Sadiki , reported the identification of around two million heads of sheep so far, as part of preparations for Eid Al-Adha.
The minister recalled that 34 temporary markets were set up to strengthen existing markets, while 210,000 fattening units were registered, noting the temporary opening for the second consecutive year of livestock imports, and the launch of an appeal offers for 600,000 heads of sheep for Eid al-Adha.
