Morocco – Morocco’s General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) officially inaugurated the new headquarters of the Third Police District in Laâyoune on Wednesday, as part of the celebrations marking the 27th anniversary of Throne Day. The initiative forms part of the DGSN’s strategy to modernize police infrastructure and improve the quality of public services.
The opening of the new police facility is in line with the DGSN’s annual action plans aimed at upgrading and modernizing police premises, improving working conditions for officers, and enhancing community-oriented policing services for citizens.
Located in the Al Taâwoun neighborhood of Laâyoune, the new building covers a total area of 190 square meters. It includes reception and information areas, administrative offices, and facilities equipped in accordance with modern safety and security standards, while also ensuring accessibility for all categories of citizens.
The new headquarters has also been connected to the National Police’s operational communication systems, security databases, and digital information platforms, enabling it to provide administrative and judicial police services under optimal conditions, particularly the processing of administrative documents and cases falling within the district’s territorial jurisdiction.
The DGSN emphasized that the project is part of an ongoing nationwide program to modernize police facilities by providing contemporary workspaces that improve officers’ working environment while enhancing the quality of reception and accelerating the processing of citizens’ requests.
The inauguration of the new Third Police District headquarters in Laâyoune reflects the DGSN’s continued commitment to modernizing Morocco’s security infrastructure and bringing police services closer to citizens, in line with its broader strategy to improve public security services.

The inauguration of the new police facility falls within the DGSN’s annual development plans aimed at upgrading and modernizing police buildings, improving officers’ working conditions, and expanding community policing services for citizens.
Built in the Al Taawoun district of Laayoune, the new facility covers 190 square meters and includes reception and guidance areas, administrative offices, and modern facilities designed in accordance with safety and security standards. It also features accessibility measures to accommodate the needs of all members of the public.
The building has been fully integrated into the National Police’s operational communication networks, security databases, and digital information systems, enabling it to provide both administrative and judicial police services efficiently, particularly the issuance of administrative documents and the handling of cases within its territorial jurisdiction.
