Le sélection nationale marocaine a subi un coup dur à seulement deux jours de son match d’ouverture en Coupe du monde 2026 face au Brésil, avec la confirmation du forfait de Nayef Aguerd et Abdessamad Ezzalzouli pour le reste de la compétition en raison de blessures.
La Fédération royale marocaine de football a annoncé, dans un communiqué validé par la FIFA, le retrait des deux joueurs de la liste finale de la sélection nationale, après confirmation de leur inaptitude médicale à poursuivre la compétition.
Conformément aux procédures en vigueur de la FIFA, deux changements ont été autorisés dans la liste avant le premier match. Le sélectionneur national Mohammed Wahbi a ainsi convoqué le défenseur Marouane Saâdan, pensionnaire du club saoudien Al-Fateh, ainsi que l’attaquant Amine Sebaï, joueur du club français Angers.
Marouane Saâdan portera le numéro 5, tandis qu’Amine Sebaï arborera le numéro 17 durant la Coupe du monde 2026.
Le Maroc disputera son premier match du tournoi le 13 juin contre le Brésil, une confrontation très attendue qui constitue un test majeur pour les Lions de l’Atlas dès l’entame de leur parcours mondialiste.

The Moroccan national team has suffered a major setback just two days before its opening match at the 2026 World Cup against Brazil, after Nayef Aguerd and Abdessamad Ezzalzouli were officially ruled out of the remainder of the tournament due to injury.
The Royal Moroccan Football Federation announced in an official statement approved by FIFA that both players have been removed from the final squad list after being deemed medically unfit to continue participating in the World Cup.
In accordance with FIFA regulations, two squad changes were authorized before the first match. National coach Mohammed Wahbi therefore called up defender Marouane Saâdan, who plays for Saudi club Al-Fateh, and forward Amine Sebaï, a player for French club Angers.
Marouane Saâdan will wear shirt number 5, while Amine Sebaï will wear number 17 during the 2026 World Cup.
Morocco is set to play its opening match of the tournament on June 13 against Brazil, in a highly anticipated clash that represents an early and major test for the Atlas Lions.
