La Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) a annoncé son soutien unanime au président de la Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), Gianni Infantino, pour une nouvelle candidature à la tête de l’instance mondiale du football. Cette décision a été prise lors d’une réunion regroupant les 54 fédérations africaines à Vancouver, au Canada, à la veille du 76e Congrès de la FIFA.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced its unanimous support for FIFA President Gianni Infantino to seek a new term at the head of world football’s governing body. The decision was made during a meeting involving 54 African football associations in Vancouver, Canada, on the eve of the 76th FIFA Congress.

Dans un communiqué officiel, la CAF a exprimé son soutien total au dirigeant italo-suisse en préparation des élections du cycle 2027-2031, une démarche qui lui offre un poids électoral important grâce à un bloc de 54 voix au sein de l’Assemblée générale de la FIFA.
In an official statement, CAF expressed its full support for the Italian-Swiss official ahead of the 2027-2031 election cycle, a move that grants him strong electoral backing through a voting bloc of 54 votes within FIFA’s General Assembly.

Gianni Infantino préside la FIFA depuis 2016. Les règlements internes de l’organisation lui permettent de briguer un mandat supplémentaire, son premier mandat n’ayant pas été entièrement comptabilisé après sa succession à l’ancien président Sepp Blatter.
