Experts warn that the world is entering a new phase of “complex migration,” in which economic, political, and environmental factors increasingly overlap, raising fears of expanding displacement waves in the coming years as a result of climate change and geopolitical crises.
International organizations have also warned that reductions in humanitarian funding and declining support for migrants and refugees could worsen the crisis and increase the number of victims, particularly along dangerous maritime routes.
