El Hajeb – The Regional Directorate of Production in Fès–Meknès, التابعة للمكتب الوطني للكهرباء والماء الصالح للشرب (قطاع الماء), announced the launch of a new project aimed at supporting and improving the supply of drinking water to the city of El Hajeb from the Idriss I Dam, with a budget estimated at approximately 16.4 million dirhams.
El Hajeb – La Direction Régionale de la Production Fès–Meknès, relevant de l’Office National de l’Électricité et de l’Eau Potable (branche eau), a annoncé le lancement d’un nouveau projet visant à soutenir et améliorer l’alimentation en eau potable de la ville d’El Hajeb à partir du barrage Idriss Ier, pour un coût estimé à environ 16,4 millions de dirhams.

The project, financed by the German Development Bank, is part of broader efforts to strengthen the water supply system in the Fès–Meknès region, particularly in light of constraints related to water scarcity and increasing demand for this vital resource, according to available data.
Ce projet, financé par la Banque allemande de développement, s’inscrit dans le cadre des efforts visant à renforcer le système d’approvisionnement en eau au niveau de la région Fès–Meknès, notamment face aux contraintes liées à la rareté des ressources hydriques et à l’augmentation de la demande pour cette ressource vitale, selon les données disponibles.

The Office explained that the program includes the construction of civil engineering facilities designed to strengthen storage capacity and improve distribution network performance, through the establishment of pumping stations equipped with a 1,000-cubic-meter reservoir, enabling better flow regulation and increased pumping efficiency.
L’Office a précisé que le programme comprend la réalisation d’ouvrages de génie civil destinés à renforcer les capacités de stockage et à améliorer les performances des réseaux de distribution, à travers la mise en place de stations de pompage dotées d’un réservoir d’une capacité de 1 000 mètres cubes, permettant une meilleure régulation du débit et une amélioration du rendement du pompage.

The project also includes the construction of a partially underground reservoir with a capacity of 500 cubic meters in the center of Agourai, accompanied by a pumping station to enhance water supply to the area and surrounding zones.
Le projet prévoit également la construction d’un réservoir semi-enterré d’une capacité de 500 mètres cubes au centre d’Agourai, accompagné d’une station de pompage, afin de renforcer l’alimentation en eau potable de la zone et des localités avoisinantes.

Housing units for guards will also be built at several new facility sites to ensure security and proper management, along with landscaping works to integrate these infrastructures into their environmental surroundings and enhance their sustainability in the medium and long term.
Des logements de gardiennage seront également construits sur plusieurs sites des nouvelles installations afin d’en assurer la sécurisation et la bonne gestion, en plus des travaux d’aménagement des abords pour garantir leur intégration environnementale et renforcer leur durabilité à moyen et long terme.

Through this project, the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water aims to strengthen water infrastructure, improve service reliability, and reduce the risk of supply interruptions or disruptions, particularly during peak periods.
À travers ce chantier, l’Office National de l’Électricité et de l’Eau Potable ambitionne de consolider les infrastructures hydrauliques, d’améliorer la fiabilité du service et de réduire les risques de coupures ou de perturbations de l’approvisionnement, notamment durant les périodes de forte demande.

The project is expected to enhance the resilience of the water supply system in El Hajeb province and support its socio-economic development momentum by ensuring regular and secure water provision to residents in accordance with approved technical and environmental standards.
Ce projet devrait contribuer à renforcer la résilience du système d’alimentation en eau dans la province d’El Hajeb et à accompagner la dynamique socio-économique qu’elle connaît, en garantissant un approvisionnement régulier et sécurisé de la population conformément aux normes techniques et environnementales en vigueur.
