Municipal councillor Said Bahri, representing the Popular Movement, has sent an official letter to the President of the Municipal Council of Fes, raising a series of questions regarding infrastructure and urban services within the Zouagha district.
According to the document reviewed by Fes News, the councillor inquired about the status of the neighborhood sports field located in the Al-Duha area, adjacent to the Anbarah administrative annex, calling for clarification on the future of this facility amid a shortage of local recreational spaces for youth.
The questions also addressed the expansion of roads and vacant spaces linking the Al-Kitab roundabout to the Douar Sidi El Hadi roundabout within the same district, in light of residents’ demands to improve road safety conditions and ease traffic congestion along these routes.
In a third point, the councillor raised concerns about a land plot transferred to the National Railways Office (ONCF) near Douar Mhioua in Zouagha. According to the letter, the plot has turned into a “black spot,” raising environmental and safety concerns after becoming a dumping ground for waste.
The letter further addressed the situation of urban transport lines in Zouagha, highlighting the case of bus line No. 32, which previously connected the neighborhoods of Anbarah, Ain Smen, and Al-Nakheel to the train station before being discontinued—without, according to the letter, reinstatement—thereby affecting residents’ mobility.
This correspondence comes within the framework of activating accountability mechanisms within elected councils, reflecting efforts by some members to raise proximity issues related to basic services and infrastructure, in response to citizens’ concerns within urban districts.
