Member of Parliament Samira Kassiour, from the National Rally of Independents (RNI) parliamentary group, has submitted a written question to the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, inquiring about the expected timeline for launching the project to establish a Faculty of Dental Medicine.
In her parliamentary question, the MP highlighted that students from the Meknes prefecture and neighboring areas are placing great hopes on bringing this project to fruition, given the qualitative addition it would represent in supporting and developing the university infrastructure of the Fes–Meknes region.
She noted that the project to establish a Faculty of Dental Medicine had previously received approval from the Fes–Meknes Regional Council, which, according to her, reflects the existence of strong local will to see this academic initiative realized, in line with students’ needs and the requirements of training in medical specialties.
In the same context, the MP stressed the importance of strengthening coordination and cooperation between the services of the Ministry of Higher Education and other relevant sectors, in order to accelerate the pace of implementation. She emphasized that establishing this faculty constitutes a key pillar in enabling students to pursue their university and training paths under appropriate conditions, without the need to travel to other cities.
This parliamentary question comes within the framework of the ongoing debate on expanding and improving the quality of the university offering in the Fes–Meknes region, in response to the growing demand for medical and paramedical training, and to enhance the attractiveness of university hubs in the area.
