Fez – An important meeting was held at the headquarters of the Regional Center for Education and Training Professions in the Fez-Meknes region, bringing together the President of Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University, Dr. Mustapha Ijaalali, at the head of a delegation including directors and deans, with the Director of the Center, Dr. Mohamed Lazmi Alhasani, in the presence of assistant directors, a secretary general, and representatives of the institution’s council and scientific committee. The meeting provided an opportunity to strengthen the bonds of cooperation and partnership between the two institutions.
The meeting opened with renewed congratulations to the Center’s Director on the occasion of the government’s renewal of confidence in him for a second term, along with praise for his vital role in qualifying educational and administrative staff and improving the education system.
The Center’s Director also reviewed the interim results of the partnership and cooperation agreement signed on June 18, 2023, which aims to expand knowledge horizons, consolidate scientific, cultural, and educational cooperation, and stimulate the exchange of expertise.
The report highlighted tangible progress in the areas of cooperation, most notably:
- Consolidating scientific and research cooperation through organizing joint seminars and conferences, membership of university professors in the Center’s research teams, participation of the Center’s professors in supervising and discussing university theses, membership of the Center’s professors in the University’s research laboratories, as well as exchange of research publications.
- Exchange of academic expertise through the participation of the Center’s professors in oral examination committees for recruitment competitions at the Higher School for Teachers in Fez (a first step of its kind nationally), and participation of university professors in recruitment and promotion committees at the Center.
In conclusion, both parties affirmed their commitment to continue implementing the agreement and exploring new areas of cooperation, with the formation of a joint committee to prepare an annual action plan. The University President and Center Director pledged to provide the necessary support to ensure the sustainability of this strategic partnership, which contributes to the development of the educational system in the region.
