Fez.. Signing Ceremony for Peer-Reviewed Collective Book “Didactics of School Subjects: Contemporary Approaches”

The Center for Studies in Educational Sciences, in partnership with the Moroccan University Solidarity Foundation in Fez, organized on the morning of Tuesday, December 9, 2025, a signing ceremony for the peer-reviewed collective book “Didactics of School Subjects: Contemporary Approaches,” at the conference hall of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Dhar El Mahraz.

The book, coordinated and supervised in its publication by Dr. Ihsan El Meskini, and introduced by Dr. Mohammed El Azhari, includes contributions from more than thirty researchers, university professors, and pedagogues, and presents renewed visions in the didactics of teaching school subjects across the fields of humanities, social sciences, experimental sciences, and exact sciences.

The ceremony was moderated by Dr. Tarek El Qotaibi, with the participation of Dr. Mohammed Barraz and Dr. Suleiman Zine El Abidine, alongside a select group of research professors and those interested in education issues in Morocco.

The speakers agreed that this publication represents a qualitative addition to the Moroccan educational library, as it proposes contemporary approaches and innovative concepts in curriculum implementation, with clear openness to pioneering international experiences, and provides wide spaces for renewing didactic perceptions and improving the quality of learning within the classroom.

For his part, Dr. Ihsan El Meskini, the book’s coordinator, confirmed that this collective work aims to “make an actual contribution to improving classroom practices and elevating the education and training system in Morocco, by providing practical solutions applicable in the school reality.”

Dr. Mohammed El Azhari noted in his introduction to the book that the work “comes in the context of the major challenges facing the Moroccan school today, and seeks to diagnose structural deficiencies and provide educational prescriptions based on field-based scientific research.”

The Center for Studies in Educational Sciences emphasized that producing peer-reviewed collective books remains one of its strategic priorities, with the aim of raising the level of scientific production in both quantity and quality, and strengthening bridges of communication between researchers and practitioners in the educational field.

The ceremony concluded with a book signing session and distribution to attendees, amid great interaction from professors, doctoral students, and those interested in educational system reform issues in Morocco.
