The Kingdom of Morocco, led by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, has officially welcomed the announcement by U.S. President Donald Trump of a reached agreement for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. A formal statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Living Abroad affirmed Morocco’s appreciation for the personal efforts of President Trump and the role of international mediators in achieving this important accord, while calling on all concerned parties to actively and fully implement its provisions.
The main points highlighted by Morocco were as follows:
- The necessity of protecting civilians and saving lives.
- The release of all hostages and detainees.
- Guaranteeing swift and adequate humanitarian aid for Gaza’s residents.
- Launching the reconstruction of the sector.
- Working to create new prospects for achieving a just and comprehensive resolution to the Palestinian issue.
Morocco also reaffirmed its steadfast stance on the Palestinian cause, emphasizing the importance of the two-state solution based on the borders of June 4, 1967, with Jerusalem as the capital of the Palestinian state and Gaza as an integral part. The Kingdom announced its full readiness to actively contribute to all stages of the agreement’s implementation to guarantee the rights of the Palestinian people and help foster regional stability.
