Inauguration of the new Taza train station, worth 39 million dirhams, and the expansion of daily flights to Fez

On September 11, 2025, the new Taza train station was officially inaugurated in a ceremony led by the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Mohammed El Aziz Ait Amazigh, alongside the Director General of the National Office of Railways (ONCF), Mohammed Rabie Khlie, and the President of the Taza Regional Council. This state-of-the-art project, built adjacent to the existing station, represents a significant investment of approximately 39 million Moroccan dirhams, with an additional 6.6 million dirhams allocated to develop an integrated service area aimed at enhancing passenger comfort and accessibility.

This initiative aligns with national efforts to modernize rail infrastructure and improve connectivity in the Fes-Meknes region. The new station offers advanced facilities, including upgraded waiting areas, ticketing services, and enhanced security measures, contributing to the overall development of rail transport in Taza. Starting September 15, 2025, the service will be further improved by adding two additional daily trains between Taza and Fez to respond to the growing demand for efficient commuting options.

By mid-August 2025, the project had reached over 90% completion, reflecting Morocco’s commitment to sustainable mobility and regional economic integration. Official statements from the ONCF emphasized the project’s role in facilitating smoother travel for both residents and visitors. Further operational details and performance indicators are expected to be released by the relevant authorities in the coming weeks.
