Morocco Issues Licenses to Market 67 Legal Cannabis Products and Strengthens Regulatory Oversight

Morocco has announced the issuance of licenses to market 67 legal cannabis products, marking a significant step toward formally integrating this sector into the national economy. These products include 26 cosmetic items and 41 dietary supplements, all officially registered with the Moroccan Agency for Medicines and Health Products, a required step to enable their local and international marketing.

As part of ongoing sector regulation, the National Agency for the Regulation of Cannabis Activities continues to carry out intensive inspections, having conducted 2,202 monitoring operations to ensure compliance with applicable laws and standards.

The current harvest has also seen notable expansion, with the cultivation area of the “baladiya” cannabis plant reaching 4,400 hectares—an increase of more than threefold compared to the previous agricultural season—reflecting the rapid growth of this vital sector in Morocco.
