Jerusalem, Palestine – Today, Sunday, the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Al-Sharif Agency launched its school bag distribution campaign for the new 2025-2026 academic year. The symbolic ceremony took place in the village of Al-Nabi Samuel, northwest of Jerusalem. This humanitarian initiative, funded by Moroccan institutions, aims to ease the financial burden on needy Jerusalemite families.
Supporting 2,300 Students with a $125,000 Budget
The campaign targets a total of 2,300 students in schools across the Jerusalem governorate, with a total budget of $125,000. The first phase of the distribution, which took place today, benefited approximately 150 children in Al-Nabi Samuel village. Their faces were filled with joy as they received their new school bags, in an atmosphere that reflected solidarity and cooperation.
A Message of Ongoing Support and Solidarity
This initiative underscores the role of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Al-Sharif Agency in supporting the resilience of Palestinians. The agency described its work as “continuing its stand with Palestinians from all walks of life, through good times and bad, and in times of hardship as well as prosperity.”
On this occasion, Ms. Nawal Barakat, head of the Al-Nabi Samuel Association, expressed her deep gratitude to King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, for his continuous support for the people of Jerusalem, especially the residents of this marginalized village who suffer from isolation and a lack of resources. Ms. Barakat confirmed that this material and emotional support, culminating today in the distribution of essential school supplies, is a valuable help at the start of the school year.
For his part, Mr. Ismail Al-Ramli, the agency’s project manager in Jerusalem, explained that this operation comes “amid the difficult circumstances” facing the city. He noted that the distributed school bags contain all the necessary tools and stationery, in addition to educational aids to help students in their academic pursuits.
