Meknes, Morocco – In line with the High Royal Directives to promote local development, the Acting Wali of the region chaired an extensive meeting yesterday, Friday, at the annex of the Meknes prefecture. The meeting was dedicated to launching consultations on the preparation of the Integrated Territorial Development Program.

A Participatory Workshop for a Comprehensive Development Program

The meeting was attended by various local actors, elected officials, heads of external services, and representatives of civil society and the private sector, as part of a participatory approach aimed at involving all parties in shaping a new development vision.

Identifying Development Priorities

  • Strengthening Basic Services: Focusing on the education and health sectors to ensure citizen dignity and achieve regional equity.
  • Water Resource Management: Implementing proactive measures to address water stress.
  • Territorial Rehabilitation Projects: Launching integrated projects to improve living quality in vulnerable areas.

A Call for Collaborative Action

Concluding his address, the Wali called on all attendees to engage in collaborative work and effective coordination to ensure the success of this development initiative. He noted that this program must be different in form and content from previous ones, with the aim of achieving tangible results on the ground. For their part, the participants welcomed the High Royal Directives, confirming their full commitment to this ambitious development project.
