CANBERRA – Graham Blewitt, former Australian Prosecutor-General who served at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, affirmed that evidence indicating genocide in Gaza is “extremely abundant,” declaring his readiness to indict Israeli leaders had he remained in office.
In an exclusive interview with Australia’s SBS News, Blewitt stated: “Had I been heading the International Criminal Court, I would not have hesitated to prepare an indictment against Israeli leaders,” emphasizing that available evidence suffices for prosecuting them on genocide charges.
The former prosecutor added in statements relayed by the channel: “No evidence is clearer than the statements of some Israeli leaders expressing their desire to wipe Palestinians off the face of the earth,” describing these declarations as “explicit admissions” of genocidal intent.
These remarks emerge amid escalating international calls for Israeli accountability over Gaza violations. Such legal observations from a former international judicial expert carry significant weight in human rights and diplomatic circles.
