As part of the celebrations marking the 26th anniversary of the glorious Throne Day, the Prefecture of Meknes organized on Monday, July 28, 2025, a series of prominent developmental activities within the framework of the National Human Development Initiative.
Mr. the Governor of the Prefecture of Meknes, accompanied by an official delegation, presided over the inauguration of a Childhood Protection Center dedicated to girls in the Majat commune, benefiting 20 girls. The total project cost amounted to 6.02 million dirhams, with the National Human Development Initiative contributing 4.88 million dirhams, while the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication provided support worth 1.14 million dirhams. This center aims to care for girls involved in legal conflicts by providing shelter, food, educational support, psychological assistance, as well as professional qualification workshops to facilitate their social and professional integration.
On the same occasion, the Governor launched the construction works of an integrated center dedicated to children with disabilities in the Boufkrane commune, benefiting 150 boys and girls. The total cost of this project reached 7.55 million dirhams, with the National Human Development Initiative contributing 7 million dirhams, while the National Cooperation provided half a million dirhams to equip the center with the necessary facilities. This project aims to support schooling for children with disabilities, develop their individual skills, and improve the quality of services provided to them, especially those related to paramedical services and professional workshops.
These projects reflect the ongoing commitment of the Meknes Prefecture, within the framework of the National Human Development Initiative, to support vulnerable groups and strengthen social and territorial integration mechanisms, in line with the high royal directives, to promote sustainable development and social justice in the region.
