Amid escalating tensions between the sports company and Maghreb Al-Fasi Association, and following growing popular protests culminating in a demonstration in front of the Fez provincial governor’s office, Hicham Chaqour, the president of the association, was compelled to submit his resignation.
This came after strong demands from fans calling for his and his board members’ resignation, protesting what they described as mismanagement, including the serious mistake related to the bank account issue raised by Reda Al-Zaïm.
The resignation followed a peaceful march organized by Ftal, the fans’ leader, which started from Hassan II Stadium and proceeded to the entrance of the governor’s office, witnessing widespread participation among the club’s supporters.
In an official statement, Hicham Chaqour announced his resignation effective immediately, while stressing the need to prepare for the upcoming general assembly scheduled for August 4, although the venue has yet to be determined.
All eyes are now on this new phase for Maghreb Al-Fasi Association, which awaits strong popular and administrative support to overcome the difficult period it is currently facing.
