Essaouira, Morocco – June 24, 2025 – A tragic incident shook the city of Essaouira as a bus assistant was fatally run over by a bus on Al-Aqaba Street following a heated dispute between two bus drivers.
According to eyewitness reports and local sources, the fatal accident occurred after an intense verbal altercation escalated between two bus drivers. During the confrontation, the assistant of one of the drivers stepped down in a moment of anger but lost his balance and fell onto the street. Tragically, he was immediately crushed by the bus’s wheels, sustaining severe injuries to his head and other parts of his body, leading to his instantaneous death.
Local authorities and security forces promptly arrived at the scene after receiving the alert. A thorough investigation was launched under the supervision of the relevant public prosecution office. The victim’s body was transferred to the morgue at the Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdellah Regional Hospital to complete legal formalities.
