As part of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking networks, police officers under the regional security command in the city of Nador arrested two individuals on the evening of Thursday, June 19, 2025, on suspicion of involvement in the possession and distribution of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
The suspects were caught in the act, and a search carried out at a residence used by one of them led to the seizure of a large quantity of drugs, including:
- 615 kilograms of cannabis (kif)
- 1,330 cigarettes filled with hashish
- Tools and equipment used for preparation and packaging
The suspects were placed under judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office to determine the circumstances of the case and to identify the potential network behind this criminal activity, including any accomplices or additional suspects.
This major operation falls within the framework of the national strategy to combat illicit drug trafficking, which is implemented by security forces with professionalism and high field vigilance, especially in border areas.
