A devastating tragedy struck the village of Takathart Soufla in the Ourika commune, Al-Haouz Province, on the evening of Thursday, claiming the lives of three members of the same family after a fatal electric shock while attempting to operate a water pump.
According to available information, the incident occurred when the father tried to connect the electric current to a pump. He was fatally electrocuted on the spot. His wife, rushing to save him, was also electrocuted and died instantly. Their daughter, in her thirties, then intervened to help her parents, only to meet the same tragic fate.
Upon being alerted, the Royal Gendarmerie and local authorities arrived at the scene. The victims’ bodies were transferred to the morgue, and the public prosecutor’s office has opened an urgent investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking event, which has deeply shocked the local community.
