Police and customs authorities at Tangier Med Port, in a joint operation, succeeded late Monday evening, June 16, 2025, in foiling an attempt to smuggle a massive quantity of hashish totaling seven tons and 50 kilograms.
According to preliminary data, the shipment was carefully concealed inside a trailer registered in Morocco, destined for a European port, in what is suspected to be part of an international drug trafficking network.
The truck driver, a 42-year-old Moroccan national, was arrested and placed under judicial custody by order of the competent public prosecution, pending further investigation to uncover all the backgrounds and extensions of this operation.
This operation is part of intensified security efforts carried out by authorities at various border points to firmly combat international drug trafficking and narcotics activities, ensuring the security and stability of the country.
