Severe Heatwave Sweeps Several Provinces in the Kingdom, Including Fez and Meknes

The General Directorate of Meteorology has announced the expected onset of a severe heatwave starting this Monday and continuing until Wednesday, with temperatures reaching up to 45°C in several provinces across Morocco, including the cities of Fez and Meknes.
The Directorate issued an orange-level weather alert, warning citizens of the potential health and safety impacts of the heatwave, and urging them to take necessary precautions, especially during peak hours.
Recommendations include avoiding direct exposure to sunlight, drinking plenty of water, and refraining from strenuous physical activity — especially for vulnerable groups such as children and the elderly.
This phenomenon comes in the context of seasonal climate changes affecting various regions of the Kingdom, highlighting the need for awareness and the reinforcement of preventive measures at both community and institutional levels.
