Several posts have circulated on social media—unverified by the newspaper through an official source within the concerned company—containing an important alert addressed to residents of Oulad Tayeb and neighboring communities about topping up their electricity meters.
According to these posts, the electricity distribution company has announced that all customers with prepaid meters, also known as “La Carte,” must top up their balances before June 25. This is in preparation for a significant transition scheduled for early July, when the new Regional Multi-Sector Company (SRM) will take over.
The posts indicate that the transition period may last up to two months, during which normal meter top-ups might not be possible. Therefore, all residents in the Fès-Meknès region are advised to recharge sufficient credit to cover at least one to two months to avoid power outages or service interruptions.
This measure aims to ensure continuous electricity supply and prevent any technical issues arising from the transition to the new system. Everyone is urged to take necessary precautions as soon as possible to avoid potential service disruptions.
