Nine Arrested in Nador and Guercif for Forgery, Irregular Immigration, and Human Trafficking

On Wednesday, June 11, 2025, judicial police units in Nador and Guercif arrested nine individuals suspected of involvement in a criminal network specializing in forgery and use of forged documents to prepare Schengen visa applications, as well as organizing irregular immigration and human trafficking operations, according to security sources.

This security operation was conducted in close coordination with the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST).

Preliminary investigation results indicate that the suspects are linked to a criminal network that falsifies administrative documents necessary for obtaining visas to European countries. These forged documents are reportedly used to facilitate irregular migration. The investigations led to the arrest of eight suspects in Nador and one in Guercif.

The judicial police also discovered in the possession of the suspects various items including photographs, identity cards, passports in the names of third parties, money transfer receipts, and a cash amount estimated at around 350,000 Moroccan dirhams, suspected to be proceeds from the criminal activity.

The suspects have been placed under custody at the disposal of the judicial investigation supervised by the competent public prosecutor, aiming to uncover all possible links of this criminal network and to apprehend any potential accomplices.

This operation is part of ongoing security efforts to combat crimes related to irregular migration and human trafficking, thereby enhancing national and regional security and stability.
