Consistent media sources have reported unconfirmed news about the dismissal of Mouad Jamai, Governor of the Fes-Meknes region, from his administrative duties, pending an official statement from the competent authorities confirming or denying the report.
In this context, sources present at the Eid al-Adha prayer at the official mosque in Fes confirmed that the governor did not personally perform the sacrifice. Rather, he refused to do so out of respect for the royal directives that called on all citizens to refrain from slaughtering sacrificial animals this year due to the critical condition of the national livestock.
According to the same sources, the Eid prayer preacher was the one who carried out the sacrifice as part of a traditional symbolic ritual held annually at the Fes mosque. After the sacrifice, the two sacrificial animals were transported on horseback to the Royal Palace in Fes, as is customary on such occasions. The official delegation was warmly received by the palace officials, and no objections or violations were recorded regarding the proceedings.
The delegation left the site aboard the governorate’s bus, with no indications at the time of any intentional breach or violation of the royal instructions.
Nevertheless, in recent hours, news has circulated about a possible dismissal decision against the governor, without any official clarification regarding the reasons or background.
An official statement is expected soon to clarify the nature of the decision, if any, and the context of the Eid al-Adha events, especially since available information indicates that what occurred was part of a symbolic official ritual rather than an administrative act violating royal directives.
