On Thursday, at the headquarters of Interpol in Lyon, France, the Kingdom of Morocco, represented by Regional Police Commissioner Leila Al-Zouin, Head of the Cybercrime Unit at the General Directorate of National Security, was elected to the position of Vice President of Interpol’s International Team of Experts on Cybercrime.
This election took place during the first annual meeting of the International Cybercrime Experts Team, held on June 4 and 5 at Interpol’s General Secretariat in Lyon, where the leadership structures of the international team were appointed.
Commissioner Leila Al-Zouin will be responsible for the “Empowerment” axis, which includes developing mechanisms, procedures, and action plans aimed at enabling victims of cybercrime with legal and technical protection tools, as well as strengthening the capacities of police and law enforcement agencies in investigating and combating cybercrimes linked to modern technologies.
This election reflects the strong commitment of the General Directorate of National Security to enhancing multilateral international security and police cooperation. It also highlights the advanced level reached by Moroccan law enforcement structures tasked with fighting cybercrime at both regional and international levels.
