Moroccan National Team Heads to Fes for Friendly Match Against Tunisia at the Grand Sports Complex

The Moroccan national football team departed for Fes today, Thursday, via plane from Rabat-Salé Airport, following their training sessions held yesterday evening at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Maâmora. These sessions were part of their preparations for the upcoming friendly match against Tunisia.

The “Atlas Lions” are set to conclude their preparations for the match later this evening, with a final training session on the pitch of the Grand Sports Complex in Fes. National coach Walid Regragui has decided to allow media access for the first 15 minutes of the session, starting at 7:45 PM, after which the rest of the session will be closed to finalize tactical and technical adjustments to the starting lineup.

The preparations come amid several forced absences, the most notable being the absence of Ibrahim Diaz, the Real Madrid player, who confirmed that he will not be participating. Regragui has called up Amine Zahzouh, a player from Raja Casablanca, to replace him. Zahzouh joined the national team after previously being part of the U-23 team camp at the Mohammed VI Complex.

The Moroccan national team will play its first friendly match during this international break on Friday, June 6, at 9:00 PM, against Tunisia at the Grand Sports Complex in Fes. The second friendly match will be against Benin on Monday, June 9, at the same time and venue.

These friendly matches are part of the preparations for the upcoming qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup and the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
