Morocco’s Digital Content Observatory Warns of ‘Ticket Theft’ and Hacking of Online Ticket Sales Systems for Atlas Lions Matches

Fes – Amid rising controversy over the ticket crisis for the Moroccan national football team matches, the “Digital Content Observatory of Morocco” has issued a serious warning urging heightened vigilance against attempts of “ticket theft” via electronic means or hacking of the official ticket sales systems.

This warning comes alongside increasing complaints about tickets selling out at record speeds and then appearing on the black market.

The Observatory, which monitors the digital space and its developments, warned of suspicious activities targeting electronic ticket sales platforms (such as Webook.com). These activities may involve the use of advanced automated programs (Bots) to buy large quantities of tickets rapidly or attempts to breach the systems to access ticket data or unauthorized entry.

In a statement to Fes News, the Observatory affirmed that “these practices not only harm passionate fans who find themselves deprived of their right to attend matches but also damage the reputation of sports organization in the kingdom, opening the door to fraudulent activities that may cause financial losses or result in counterfeit tickets.”

The Digital Content Observatory called for strengthened security and technical measures to protect ticket sales systems from any hacking attempts or exploitation of potential vulnerabilities. It also urged Moroccan fans to exercise extreme caution when purchasing tickets, strictly use official channels, and avoid suspicious links or unreasonable offers on social media, which may be traps for data theft or fraud.

Furthermore, the Observatory recommended close coordination between the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, security authorities, and cybersecurity experts to continuously monitor the digital space, identify those involved in these illegal activities, and take the necessary actions to safeguard fans’ rights and ensure the integrity of ticket sales.
