In the context of protests that took place in the Fès-Meknès region on Sunday, some residents of Oulad Maala village, part of the Ain Chkef commune, continued their demands for access to potable water. However, the facts that some parties wish to clarify indicate that the stance of this group differs from that of other associations that have addressed the same issue.
Despite expressing dissatisfaction with the situation, this group has firmly rejected the idea of settling the matter amicably or paying the accumulated debts of the concerned association, which exceed 700,000 MAD. They have also shown no interest in making any financial settlement to rectify the situation, which has puzzled some who believe this approach does not represent the optimal solution.
In this context, information indicates that this group had boycotted all coordination meetings held between the various concerned parties, which aimed to find practical and realistic solutions to this ongoing crisis. Nevertheless, it appears that the group has chosen to rely on street protests as the primary means to pressure authorities to restore water access, rather than contributing to finding joint solutions and engaging constructively with the relevant parties.
Many citizens continue to demand fundamental solutions that ensure the regular provision of this vital resource and prevent the recurrence of water supply crises in the future.
