The upcoming friendly matches of the Moroccan national team against Tunisia (June 6, 2025) and Benin (June 9, 2025) are expected to be the first official events hosted at the complex after this ambitious refurbishment. The renovations aim to elevate the stadium to meet the latest international standards imposed by global football bodies, whether in terms of pitch quality, locker rooms, spectator stands, lighting, or logistical and media facilities.
The rehabilitation works include fundamental improvements in many aspects, such as renewing the stadium’s turf with top-quality natural grass, upgrading lighting and sound systems, and developing infrastructure for sanitary facilities and reception areas for both spectators and players. Emphasis was also placed on enhancing safety and security conditions inside the stadium and its surroundings to ensure a distinguished and comfortable experience for all visitors.
This refurbishment is a testament to Morocco’s growing status as a global sports destination, where football fans look forward to enjoying match atmospheres in modern facilities befitting the reputation of Moroccan and African football. Thanks to these enhancements, the Fez Grand Stadium is expected to contribute significantly to the success of the major football events Morocco is preparing to host in the coming years and to reinforce Fez’s position as an important sports and cultural hub.
