Munich, Germany – Paris Saint-Germain made history on Saturday evening at the Allianz Arena in Munich, securing their first UEFA Champions League title with a dominant 5-0 victory over Italian club Inter Milan. Moroccan star Achraf Hakimi was instrumental in this achievement, delivering a decisive performance as usual and opening the scoring.
This title wasn’t just a coronation for the Parisian club; it also marked Achraf Hakimi’s second Champions League title in his career, having previously won it with Real Madrid in 2018.
Hakimi Kicks Off the Goal Fest
A pivotal moment arrived in the 12th minute when Achraf Hakimi showcased his attacking prowess, putting the Parisian side ahead. The goal came after excellent team play from PSG: Vitinha received the ball in the box, cleverly passing it to Désiré Doué, who skillfully turned and delivered a perfect pass to the well-positioned “Atlas Lion.” Hakimi then clinically slotted the ball into the net with the inside of his right foot.
Hakimi’s goal, from a defender known for his offensive instincts, was crucial in breaking down Inter Milan’s defense. His teammate Doué followed up with two more goals in the 20th and 63rd minutes, completing his personal brace. The goals didn’t stop there, as Khvicha Kvaratskhelia added the fourth in the 73rd minute, before Senny Mayulu sealed the dominant performance with the fifth goal in the 86th minute.
Historic Treble for Paris Saint-Germain
Further cementing his place as an indispensable player in the Paris Saint-Germain squad, Hakimi enhanced his goal-scoring contributions in this tournament, having previously scored in the quarter-finals against Aston Villa and the semi-finals against Arsenal. With this victory, Paris Saint-Germain has achieved a historic treble this season, securing the French League title and the French Cup in addition to the Champions League title.
