Fez Grand Stadium Nears Completion Ahead of Official Match Return

Sports observers in Fez have confirmed that the renovation works at the Fez Grand Stadium are nearing completion, with major upgrades finalized. These include improvements to the stands, the pitch, and the locker rooms.

The ongoing work is part of broader preparations to resume football activities at one of the city’s most iconic sports facilities.

According to on-site sources, current efforts are focused on installing modern electronic gates and reinforcing the perimeter with new fencing at the stadium entrances, in a move aimed at enhancing safety and operational management.

Despite the substantial progress, the stadium is still awaiting technical inspection clearance in order to receive official authorization to host matches. In this context, local sports analysts are closely following the stance of the relevant authorities regarding the possibility of scheduling Morocco’s upcoming matches against Tunisia and Benin—set for June—at this venue, although no official confirmation has been issued yet.

The Fez Grand Stadium is part of a national infrastructure upgrade initiative, in preparation for Morocco’s hosting of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2030 FIFA World Cup, alongside other ongoing sports projects aimed at improving stadium facilities across the country.
